Cobra Kai Season 6: Premiere Date Teased

The Netflix hit series, Cobra Kai is set to wrap up with its sixth and final season. Currently in production.

Cobra Kai has enjoyed a stellar run on the streamer and even with its critical ratings. As the current season 5 of Cobra Kai stands tall as the highest rated season on Rotten Tomatoes.

Which makes this farewell especially bittersweet for fans of the series.

Nonetheless, a farewell is still necessary ad will of course help the show preserve its good standing. Because a continuation without purpose would make Cobra Kai feel like it was biting off more than it can chew.

When To Expect Season 6?

With season 6 currently in production. An expected release in the nearest future should not be feasible. As this is also taking into consideration the twin strikes of writers & actors guilds last year that halted major productions across Hollywood. Including that of Cobra Kai.

It is also safe to assume that production isn’t fully back up and running. Courtesy of the just concluded holiday season.

However, Co-Creator of Cobra Kai, Hayden Schlossberg has recently confirmed that Season 6 of the series is still set to premiere/release sometime this year.

Schlossberg confirmed this via X (formerly Twitter) when asked by a user. Alongside the possible 2024 release date for the season, Schlossberg also confirmed the usual 10 episode count. But with significantly longer runtimes than previous seasons. Making this series finale a super-sized affair.

But of course, an increased runtime means more time & things will have to be shot during production.

As well, more time & things will have to be edited in post-production. And with production just getting back up, even a late 2024 release may not suffice.

Then there’s also the fact that Netflix will want to exploit the hype by splitting the release of the series. As they’ve formerly done for a number of their flagship shows. Of which Cobra Kai could be a part since it’s in its final season.

It’s safe to assume that if Cobra Kai season 6 does come out this year, it could pull the same end of year release that season 4 pulled back in 2021.

Although, if a split happens, then the season could spill out into 2025.
But it could also be that season 6 is far into production which is why Schlossberg is promising a 2024 release. All that remains now, is to wait and see.
