Fandom Top 3 Must-See Releases on December 22nd

As the year draws to a close so to does the cinematic offerings that came with it. Although, there’s still a lot to look forward even within the remaining weeks of December 2023.

In particular, Friday the 22nd will be a big day for the fandom that will see the release/premiere of 3 highly anticipated offerings.

Of course, given how big that day will be, the excitement as well as engagement will be carried into the weekend and possibly the start of the following week. Which for those that are unaware, is Christmas week.

So just what are three projects that the fandom should be looking forward to come 22nd of December, 2023?. They consists of the following:

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

A direct sequel/follow up to 2018’s Aquaman. Serving as the swan-song for the DCEU, Arthur and Atlantis at large face possible extinction. When a vengeful Black Manta comes into possession of a Dark Trident.

This sequel has also been teased (by Director, James Wan) as a bromance, action-adventure story as opposed the more romantic, action-adventure story of its predecessor.

Even though there has been whisperings of a possible third film to culminate the franchise. The one thing confirmed to come from this already is how it serves as the final for the DCEU. In order to make way for the DCU.

So if an Aquaman threequel were to happen, it would undoubtedly be a part of the DCU. Similar to how Peacemaker season 2 hopes to make the transition.

Rebel Moon

Zack Snyder’s partnership with Netflix currently has to be one of the best collaborative stories in the Hollywood industry. An industry that is largely notorious for its mostly unproductive oversight over its creatives.

Thus whatever Zack Snyder may have done to get in their good graces this much. Needs to be studied as the filmmaker has once again received the full creative keys to materialise yet another original IP.

Though this time, cosmic shenanigans will be the order of the day. Zack Snyder’s imprints can still be noticed all over. With the original film’s premiere set to launch not just a direct sequel but an entire (multimedia) franchise in the nearest future.

What If…? Season 2

The highly acclaimed MCU animated series is back. Or at least will be back. With more hypotheticals set to materialise within the ever-unpredictable multiverse.

It will be intriguing to see just how The Watcher assesses them.

While The Multiverse Saga hasn’t really been doing the franchise a lot of favours, What If…? has been one of the bright spots.

Therefore, if this sophomore season is anything like the first one, based on quality of the storytelling. Then fans and general audiences alike are in for a treat.

Especially after nailing Loki Season 2, with the prospect for the upcoming Echo series also looking positive. The MCU could have a solid hattrick on their hands after a huge disappointment.

But for now, 9 new multiversal probabilities is what to look forward to.

So whether one will be going to the cinemas or staying at home. The fandom is sure to be thrown into a frenzy when 22nd of December, 2023 hits.
