Major Expectations for Frozen 3

The animated smash hit franchise from Disney, Frozen is lauded as one of the best animated films of the 2010’s from the mega Hollywood studios.

With both films in the franchise each earning at least a billion dollars at the global box office. So the production of a threequel is not only expected but highly anticipated.

In lieu of this, the Frozen threequel is expected to deliver on four fronts, at least from a story standpoint.

A New Queen

At the end of Frozen 2, a major highlight was younger Anna becoming the queen of Arendelle.

With this new role, it will be intriguing to explore how Arendelle flourishes under its new queen.

Worth exploring also is how her rule would be compared to that of the queens before her. Especially when compared to her sister, Elsa.

Fifth Spirit

Another major highlight as well from the end of Frozen 2 was Elsa’s relinquishing of the crown to step into a new role as the fifth elemental spirit.

In the upcoming threequel, the story would do well to explore the job description of being a fifth spirit.

Also more emphasis could be placed on the elemental spirits because of this. Since they are connected.

Starting a Family

In the wake of Frozen 3 exploring Anna is queen. It is worth noting that the relationship between Anna and Kristoff is still going strong and could possibly have evolved next time we see them.

For starters, Kristoff automatically graduates to become royalty ruling alongside Anna. And due to their romantic relationship. It is expected that the two begin raising a family by the start or even by the end of the film.

However, if such family were to materialize at the start of Frozen 3, it would certainly heighten the stakes of whatever ordeal the characters are to put up with.

Threat to Arendelle

Judging by previous Frozen installments the obvious guess is that whatever the antagonistic factor for Frozen 3. It will be something that puts the entire kingdom of Arendelle at risk yet again.

Furthermore, the threat could also be tied to Elsa and her powers as we’ve previously seen.

Frozen 3 may be yet another slam dunk for Disney and the franchise. But in the wake of current realities. Frozen 3 may not be as successful as its predecessors financially.

But with the cinematic space now experiencing something of a recovery back to the norm. The threequel could benefit from this and help buttress the franchise’s dominance.

Frozen 3 is scheduled for theatrical release in 2026.

With Frozen 4 also confirmed to be in development.
