The DCU Expands Via Some Confirmed Additions
Chapter 1 of the DCU titled ‘Gods and Monsters’ has 10 projects in totality as of now, with an equal split of feature films and TV series.
But James Gunn has announced the return of a DCEU character who will now be firmly placed within the DCU.
The character in question is none other than John Cena’s Peacemaker with the eponymous show scoring a sophomore season that will undoubtedly be a part of the DCU. Even though it hasn’t officially been added to the Chapter 1 roster of projects.
James Gunn can in fact be quoted on social media stating that Peacemaker season 2 is what is next in line on his production timetable after Superman: Legacy.
Though if it will be the next DCU to release after Superman: Legacy is still up in the air.
Furthermore, in light of unofficial DCU projects, Xolo Mariduena, the star of last year’s Blue Beetle has also been confirmed to make the transition to the new franchise.
So it is safe to expect a Blue Beetle sequel/part two in the future of the DCU. With the star confirming his character’s appearance in the new franchise sooner rather later.
Though just how this appearance will be executed in Chapter 1 is anyone’s guess. But in the case of Peacemaker season 2. A Chapter 1 slot is all but confirmed.
