The Prodigy Element in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender

It’s been a long time coming. But finally audiences and fans alike have been treated to the live-action rendition. Of Netflix’s more faithful adaptation of the globally adored Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The series of course isn’t without its hiccups judging by the largely polarising ratings across the board.

But the ratings are of course but a little deciding factor on whether or not. Avatar: The Last Airbender continues its journey on the streamer.

As its continuity will eventually boil down to streaming numbers racked up within its first few weeks.

So while we keep our fingers crossed, there’s a number of things the show does well enough or in some respects, better than the original series.

With one of them being the fact that the chosen one element of being the Avatar comes with a prodigious status.

Something the original animated series never quite highlighted.

For the most part, the animated series largely dances around the subject matter of the Avatar being a prodigy. When it does, it boils down to having mastered all four elements.

However, in Netflix’s take, the personality that is to become the Avatar already shows signs of being well-versed and quite powerful in his native element. Long before other elements come into play.

This new story route certainly helps reiterate the chosen one element better than just the more random nature of the original animated series.

All episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender are available for streaming on Netflix.
