Why the MCU Should Not Move Past Kang

In the wake of the mostly negative outcome surrounding Jonathan Majors (who played Kang) court case.

Word on the street, (though yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios) is that the MCU may now be looking to Dr. Doom as the Saga’s next big bad. To take over from Kang.

While this is worth getting elated over. This hurried decision may end up doing more harm than good.

Why Keep Kang?

As earlier stated, moving away from Kang so quickly could hurt the franchise as there is no proper way or enough time to justify this switch.

In fact, it is hurried decision-making like this that put the DCEU in peril and eventually led to its demise.

Furthermore, setting up Dr. Doom as the Saga’s new villain requires time the Saga does not currently have.

Granted, he may surface in the upcoming Fantastic Four feature. A villain of a Saga can’t be justified by just one feature film appearance and Dr. Doom is just too big of a villain like Thanos to rush through his arc, no matter the reason.

Hence, it would be better to simply recast Kang and keep working with the character until the end of The Multiverse Saga as intended.

Since he already has the setup and appearance to justify his rise as this Saga’s villain.

In conclusion, Dr. Doom is best left being the villain of another Saga.
